SETTING UP MANY DASYLAB CHANNELS
SOFTWARE > DASYLAB SOFTWARE >
When setting up an instruNet/DASYLab system that has many channels (e.g. > 32), it
is recommended that one use instruNet World PLUS to set up the instruNet channels
(e.g. sensor type, wiring type). Strain gages, for example, often require 13 settings per
channel. And in a 200 channel system this could involve setting over 2600 different
fields. Yet don't panic yet, because instruNet World PLUS is here. To set up many
instruNet channels for use in DASYLab, it is recommended that one:
- Obtain a copy of instruNet World PLUS (iW+), part #iNet-350.
- After installing the PLUS license, open instruNet World and write a little script to set
up your channels, per iW+. In summary, one
defines a list of channels and gives that list a name, and then with one line of script
code, copies the settings of one channel to all channels in that list. Several lines of
script code can set over 1000 channel settings. See script file "…\ program files \
instruNet \ instruNet World+ \ Examples \ Copy Channel Settings.iBs" for details.
- After running your instruNet script program, press the instruNet World Network tab,
press the SAVE button to save these settings to disk in an iW .prf setup file, and then
exit instruNet World.
- Open DASYLab, open an instruNet icon, press the instruNet World button to open
instruNet World from within DASYLab, press the OPEN button to load the thousands of
settings that you had previously saved, close the instruNet World window, and then
save the DASYLab instrument to disk (i.e. select Save under File) to lock in these
these channel settings.
Easy !!!
