LabVIEW and instruNet
LabVIEW software Version ≥ 4 for Windows is compatible with instruNet hardware, via low cost drivers listed below. These drivers provide LabVIEW icons for many of the instruNet functions described in Programming, and provide examples of their use. To learn more about this,
The first step is to test your LabVIEW and it's connetion to instruNet hardware via the interface kit VI "Open instruNet 2.vi". This will load the instruNet driver into LabVIEW,
initialize the instruNet system, and then open the instruNet World window.
To do this, start LabVIEW, open the "instruNet World.llb" file, select "Open instruNet 2.vi", set the menu control to the Network Page and then run the VI (press triangle icon). A window should appear that shows
a list of instruNet hardware channels attached to the system (i.e. the Network page). While doing this, no other instruNet software can be running, since only one program
can access instruNet at a time.
This exercise will validate the instruNet hardware, the instruNet driver (e.g. iNet32.dll), the LabVIEW-to-instruNet interface kit (from shiretech) and the LabVIEW software (from ni.com).
